What material is better for the suitcase?

At present, the most common suitcases on the market are mainly divided into three categories, namely hard-shell suitcases, soft suitcases and leather suitcases. Each of them has different representative materials.

1. Hard case

The material of hard shell box mainly includes ABS, PP, PC and CURV.

(1) The material is ABS (synthetic resin):

Synthetic resins include five categories, namely polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene, and ABS. They are all thermoplastics.

Polyethylene (PE): Polyethylene is usually used to make food bags and various containers.

ABS is suitable for injection molding and extrusion processing, so its use is mainly to produce these two types of products. The color of ABS resin is eye-catching, heat-resistant, strong, and the outer surface can be plated with metal films such as chrome and nickel. It can be used to make piano keys, buttons, knife holders, TV casings, luggage casings, etc.

Advantages of ABS suitcase:

It is relatively hard, not easy to be compressed and deformed, and the outer shell has high strength. It is not affected by water, inorganic salts, alkalis and various acids. It is not easy to be damaged and can effectively protect the contents. The appearance of ABS is opaque and ivory-colored pellets, and its products can be colored into colorful colors and have high gloss.

Disadvantages of ABS suitcase:

The price is high, the weight is heavy, and it is inconvenient to carry. There are no small ones, but basically large ones. In addition, the price is much higher than that of Oxford cloth and artificial leather.

6. It is corrosion-resistant and wear-resistant, easy to clean, and does not require additional surface protection.

Based on the above, the priority order of our hard-shell luggage is CURV material, ABS, PP, PC

2. Soft box:

At present, the materials of soft boxes are mainly nylon, Oxford cloth or non-woven materials. Although these fabrics do not look as fashionable as hard shells, they are also very durable

Advantages of suitcase made of Oxford cloth: diversified exterior design of the box (such as the outer pocket for putting some small items at hand), ductility is relatively large and limited in capacity of the hard box, the weight of the box is lighter, the color and style of the soft box are diverse, and it is scratch-resistant .

Disadvantages: The rainproof effect is not as good as the hard box, and it is not suitable to put fragile items.

3. Leather box: cowhide, sheepskin, PU leather

If the leather suitcase is not for the special needs of highlighting high-end quality, it is not recommended to use leather suitcases. Although it looks very luxurious, it is a bit flashy for ordinary consumers, and it is easy to scratch and break. It is not easy to repair or the repair cost is high.
